Democratic Party of Korea Holds First Budget Policy Consultation in Sejong City
The Democratic Party of Korea held its first budget policy consultation in Sejong Special Self-Governing City, reaffirming its commitment to regional development and the completion of the administrative capital. The meeting was organized to discuss the future vision of Sejong City, with party leadership and key officials in attendance.
During the meeting, Supreme Council member Kim Min-seok expressed the party's intention to complete Sejong City by carrying on the dream of former President Roh Moo-hyun and the determination of former party leader Lee Hae-chan. This is interpreted as a demonstration of the party's strong will to develop Sejong City into a functional administrative capital.
Lee Kwang-jae, Chairman of the National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, also emphasized the importance of Sejong City. He stated his hope that Sejong City, initiated by former President Roh Moo-hyun, would fully establish itself as the administrative capital under the current leadership of Chairman Lee Jae-myung, adding that the party would spare no effort in providing budgetary support and policy initiatives to achieve this.
This budget policy consultation appears to be more than a simple regional visit; it is seen as a move to concretize a national balanced development strategy centered on Sejong City. The Democratic Party of Korea plans to continue focusing on securing budgets for public livelihood by reviewing key regional issues moving forward.
