Korean Air Partners with the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science to Develop Advanced Electronic Warfare Technology
Korean Air has joined forces with the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science (KIEES) to advance electromagnetic wave technology in South Korea. Korean Air recently announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KIEES for technical cooperation in the development of electronic warfare systems.
This agreement was established to enhance the competitiveness of electromagnetic wave technology across the various aerospace projects currently being pursued by Korean Air. Electronic warfare is an essential technology for modern aircraft operations, serving to jam enemy radar and protect friendly communications.
Through this partnership, Korean Air plans to share the latest electromagnetic wave-related technologies and focus on cultivating specialized talent. In particular, the company intends to actively utilize the academic expertise of KIEES to resolve complex electromagnetic interference issues that arise during the aircraft system development process.
KIEES also expects to create synergy by combining Korean Air’s aircraft development experience with the institute’s research capabilities. Both parties plan to achieve tangible results through future technical exchange meetings and joint research initiatives.
This agreement is expected to serve as a significant milestone for Korean Air in securing a technological edge in the future aerospace industry. Attention is now focused on whether the collaboration between these two organizations will elevate South Korea's aircraft development technology to the next level.
