The Presidential Advisory Council on Science and Technology (PACST), the highest decision-making body in the field of domestic science and technology, is preparing for a new future for South Korean science and technology. The council announced that it will host the '1st PACST Science and Technology Forum' at the Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 13th.
This forum was organized to reflect on the scientific and technological achievements South Korea has made over the past 60 years and to re-examine the direction for future development. Experts are scheduled to engage in in-depth discussions on the strategic direction South Korea should take amidst the rapidly changing global technological landscape.
In particular, this event is expected to focus on strengthening competitiveness in core technology sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors, as well as finding ways to enhance the efficiency of national research and development (R&D). It is anticipated to be a venue where government, academia, and industry officials gather to seek practical policy alternatives.
Based on the various opinions gathered at this forum, the Presidential Advisory Council on Science and Technology plans to lay the foundation for future national science and technology policies. Much attention is focused on the results of this forum to see if South Korea can further solidify its position as a global leader in science and technology.
