KAIST to Host 'Physical AI Korea 2026'… Leading Future Technological Innovation
KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) is set to host the 'Physical AI Korea 2026' event in 2026. This event has been organized to discuss the latest technologies and future development directions in the field of 'Physical AI,' where artificial intelligence technology integrates with the actual physical environment.
Recently, the industrial sector has been focusing on technologies where artificial intelligence goes beyond simple data analysis to connect with the physical world, such as in robotics and manufacturing processes. Through this event, KAIST plans to explore the potential of Physical AI with domestic and international experts and create an opportunity to enhance the competitiveness of related industries.
Meanwhile, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) also recently held the '2026 Smart Manufacturing Forum' in collaboration with Gyeongsangbuk-do and Pohang City. At this forum, global smart manufacturing technology trends were shared, and in-depth discussions were held on manufacturing innovation strategies utilizing artificial intelligence.
As such, major domestic universities and local governments are accelerating preparations for future industries that combine artificial intelligence and manufacturing technology. These efforts are expected to play a significant role in helping South Korea secure a leading position in the global technology market.
Much attention is being focused on how South Korea's artificial intelligence technology will be applied and developed in industrial fields through the various technology forums and events to be held in the future.
