South Korea's Lunar Orbiter 'Danuri' Captures Impact Site of SpaceX Rocket on the Moon
South Korea's first lunar orbiter, 'Danuri,' has successfully captured images of the wreckage from a SpaceX rocket that crashed into the lunar surface. This achievement serves as another testament to South Korea's technological prowess in space exploration.
The photos, taken by the high-resolution camera mounted on Danuri, clearly show traces of dust and debris generated by the rocket's impact. Scientists plan to analyze this data and utilize it as critical material for studying geological changes on the lunar surface.
Recently, major cities around the world have adopted 'AI Cities'—cities utilizing artificial intelligence—as a new policy keyword. While past smart cities managed traffic and energy through the Internet of Things (IoT) and sensors, the current focus is on creating more efficient and safe urban environments by integrating AI.
This successful observation by Danuri demonstrates that South Korea is making international contributions to the field of space science. Moving forward, South Korea is expected to play a significant role in the global space research network by sharing its space exploration data.
