Nvidia's Next-Generation AI Chip 'Vera Rubin' Begins Global Supply... When Will It Be Introduced in Korea?
Nvidia, which is currently leading the artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor market, has begun supplying its next-generation platform, the 'Vera Rubin NVL72.' This product is garnering attention from the global tech industry as it is known to offer significantly improved power efficiency and AI inference capabilities compared to the existing Blackwell platform.
The 'Vera Rubin NVL72' combines 36 'Vera' central processing units (CPUs) and 72 'Rubin' graphics processing units (GPUs) into a single unit. Thanks to this powerful combination, data centers can process much more complex AI calculations quickly while using less power.
Global big tech companies, such as Microsoft (MS), have already received these latest chips and have begun building their next-generation AI infrastructure. The industry expects that Nvidia's new chip will further accelerate the pace of the AI industry.
Korean companies are also rushing to adopt this chip to enhance their AI competitiveness. However, given the extremely high global demand, it remains uncertain when Korean firms will be able to receive full-scale supplies of the 'Vera Rubin.'
The pace of domestic AI technological development is expected to be influenced by Nvidia's future supply chain situation. Much attention is focused on what kind of results Korean companies will achieve in the global AI market through the acquisition of these next-generation semiconductors.
