Suwon Cheoncheon High School Hosts Region's First 'Human Library' Event
Cheoncheon High School in Suwon recently garnered significant attention by hosting a large-scale 'Human Library' event, a first among schools in the region. This event was conducted in a special format where students could 'borrow' people like books to engage in conversations and share experiences.
The 'Human Library' is a program that selects people with diverse professions and life experiences as 'books' instead of paper ones. Students were able to meet with experts or seniors in fields they were curious about throughout the school, including in classrooms and the library, to have in-depth conversations.
Students who participated in the event responded that it was better than reading books because they could hear much more vivid stories. In particular, it was noted that the advice from current professionals was a great help to students who were contemplating their future career paths.
A school official stated that they hope this event serves as an opportunity for students to understand the lives of others and solidify their own dreams. Cheoncheon High School plans to continue operating such educational programs to ensure students can have a variety of experiences.
