Instead of a Smartwatch, a 'Ring'… Oura Ring Enters the Korean Market
A new type of health-tracking device has recently emerged in the domestic wearable device market. In a market previously dominated by smartwatches, Finnish company Oura has thrown down the gauntlet with the launch of the 'Oura Ring 4' (Oura Ring Gen 4), a smart ring worn on the finger.
Unlike watches worn on the wrist, the Oura Ring is designed in the shape of a ring, making it more comfortable for users to wear in their daily lives. Beyond simply measuring sleep patterns or activity levels, this device analyzes the user's health data with greater precision.
In particular, this new product provides over 50 health metrics. It is expected to assist users in managing their health by offering personalized information tailored to different life stages, such as pregnancy, menopause management, and heart health.
Attention is focused on whether the smart ring worn on the finger will become a new option for domestic consumers accustomed to smartwatches. With Oura's entry into the Korean market, competition in the domestic wearable device sector is expected to intensify.
