Ministry of Food and Drug Safety Integrates Pharmaceutical Management System, Launches 'One-Stop' Service
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety is introducing a new system to manage all pharmaceuticals, from essential medicines to vaccines, in one place. The plan is to increase efficiency by consolidating management tasks, which were previously split among several agencies, into three organizations.
This measure was designed to ensure the safety of pharmaceuticals and to allow the public to receive necessary medications more quickly and conveniently. The government expects that by simplifying the management process, it will reduce potential issues in the pharmaceutical distribution chain and enable rapid responses.
Meanwhile, changes are also appearing in local medical fields. Local medical centers, such as Hongseong Medical Center, are achieving results in various areas including infectious disease response, mental health, and rehabilitation treatment, faithfully fulfilling their roles as regional base hospitals.
This reorganization of the government's pharmaceutical management system is expected to contribute to the promotion of public health by linking with local medical services. Moving forward, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety plans to build a more robust pharmaceutical safety net through this integrated management system.
