Coupang Eats Strengthens 'Heatwave Measures' for Delivery Partner Safety During Summer
As temperatures have risen sharply recently, concerns about the health of delivery partners working outdoors are growing. Accordingly, Coupang Eats Service (CES) has decided to expand various support measures to ensure delivery partners can work safely in preparation for summer heatwaves.
These measures were prepared based on the Ministry of Employment and Labor's '5 Basic Rules for Heatwave Safety.' Coupang Eats provides delivery partners with items to prevent heat-related illnesses, such as cold bottled water, cooling arm sleeves, and sunscreen. Additionally, a campaign will be conducted to encourage taking sufficient rest during the hottest hours of the day.
In particular, to prevent accidents that may occur in hot weather, safety driving guidelines are being provided regularly. Information on rest areas where delivery partners can easily take a break during work is provided, and programs to help them check their own health status are also being strengthened.
A Coupang Eats official stated, "The safety and health of our delivery partners are more important than anything else," and added that they will continue to listen to voices from the field and increase necessary support. These measures are expected to be of great help in protecting the safety of delivery workers operating in the summer heat.
