Out-of-school youth from Goryeong-gun enjoy a special cultural experience in Gyeongju
Recently, 'out-of-school youth' from Goryeong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, visited Gyeongju for a special cultural experience. This event was organized to provide the youth with diverse experiences outside the classroom and to support their emotional stability and personal growth.
Participating youth took part in a 'Temple Stay,' one of Gyeongju's representative cultural programs. They spent time experiencing the beauty of traditional Korean culture firsthand while watching a Sunmudo cultural and artistic performance.
In addition to watching the performance, various programs were held, including Gukgung (traditional archery), Jwaseon (seated meditation), and Sunmudo training. The students learned how to nurture their physical and mental well-being by directly engaging in activities they rarely encounter in their daily lives.
An official who participated in the event stated that this experience was a great help in fostering the emotional development of the youth. The local community plans to continue providing various forms of support to ensure that out-of-school youth can grow into healthy members of society.
