Seoul Significantly Expands Scope of Repair Cost Support for Jeonse Fraud Victims
The Seoul Metropolitan Government has decided to significantly expand the scope of repair cost support for housing affected by Jeonse fraud. Previously, support was only available for common areas used by the entire building, but moving forward, the interior of the units where victims reside will also be included in the scope of support.
This measure was prepared to help alleviate the practical difficulties faced by Jeonse fraud victims. In many affected homes, landlords have cut off contact or disappeared, often leaving victims unable to repair serious issues such as leaks or broken boilers that compromise their living environment.
Through this expansion of support, the Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to help victims live in safer and more comfortable environments. Eligible households will be able to receive support from the city for the costs required to repair damaged facilities within their units.
A city official explained that this policy is an essential measure for the housing stability of Jeonse fraud victims. The Seoul Metropolitan Government intends to continue closely monitoring the situations of affected households and seeking out various support measures that can provide practical assistance.
