Korean Women Experience Lower Sleep Quality and Shorter Sleep Duration Than Western Women
Recent research findings highlighting that the sleep habits of Korean women differ from those of women in the United States and Europe have been drawing attention. This study confirmed that, compared to their Western counterparts, Korean women generally experience lower sleep quality and shorter sleep duration.
According to the study results, Korean women were found to experience more frequent awakenings during the night. In particular, the onset of declining sleep quality tended to occur at an earlier age than it does for women in Western countries.
Experts are analyzing various factors, including lifestyle habits, social environments, and stress, to identify the causes of these differences. As sleep is a critical factor directly linked to health, this study once again emphasizes the importance of sleep in the health management of Korean women.
This research is expected to contribute to a better understanding of sleep health among Korean women. Experts advise that securing sufficient sleep time and improving sleep environments are essential for maintaining good health.
