Discussion on Cooperation Plans Ahead of Next Month's 'Korea-Central Asia Summit'
A policy forum was held to explore ways to foster cooperation between South Korea and Central Asian countries ahead of the 'Korea-Central Asia Summit' taking place next month. This event was organized to discuss the diplomatic direction South Korea should take amidst the rapidly changing international landscape.
On the afternoon of the 27th, a policy forum titled 'Evaluation and Prospects of Korea-Central Asia Cooperation' was held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building. At the forum, experts engaged in in-depth discussions on how South Korea and Central Asian nations can develop their relationship in the face of recent global shifts and the climate of a new Cold War.
Central Asia is considered a vital partner for South Korea in both diplomatic and economic spheres due to its abundant resources and geostrategically significant location. Experts attending the forum emphasized that cooperation between the two sides must be further strengthened in various fields, including energy, supply chains, and digital transformation.
The discussions from this forum will be used as foundational material for the summit to be held next month. The government and relevant agencies hope that this summit will serve as a catalyst for taking the substantive cooperative relationship between South Korea and Central Asian countries to the next level.
