Kia Management and Labor Reach Wage Agreement Without Dispute for 6th Consecutive Year
Kia management and labor have reached a tentative agreement in this year's wage and collective bargaining negotiations. With this, Kia has successfully concluded negotiations peacefully without strikes for six consecutive years since 2019.
According to this agreement, both sides decided to increase the base salary by 100,000 won per month. They also agreed on the payment of performance-based bonuses and special incentive payments, promising to improve the treatment of employees.
Through these negotiations, Kia's management and labor have once again reaffirmed their mutual trust amidst the rapidly changing automotive industry environment. In particular, they have secured the ability to maintain a stable production system during this critical period of shifts in the electric vehicle market and the transition to future mobility.
This agreement will be finalized following a vote by union members. Achieving a dispute-free settlement for six consecutive years is highly unusual in the domestic automotive industry and is being evaluated as a positive example of labor-management cooperation.
