Prime Minister Han Duck-soo Visits Suwon Diocese to Communicate with Religious Community
Prime Minister Han Duck-soo visited the Catholic Diocese of Suwon, located in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, on July 8. The visit was organized as a platform for the government to directly listen to and communicate with various voices across society.
During the visit, Prime Minister Han met with Bishop Lee Yong-hoon, President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea, and engaged in a warm conversation. The two exchanged in-depth views on the various challenges currently facing Korean society and the role of the religious community in addressing them.
In particular, Prime Minister Han expressed his deep gratitude for the Catholic Church's dedication to helping marginalized neighbors in our society. He requested that the religious community continue to lend its support to ensure that the government's welfare policies are effectively implemented on the ground.
Bishop Lee Yong-hoon requested that the government pay closer attention to meticulously caring for the lives of the people. Furthermore, they agreed that the government and the religious community must work together to resolve social conflicts and achieve national harmony.
This visit is expected to serve as a significant opportunity to build trust and strengthen cooperation between the government and the religious community.
