Former Lawmaker Song Young-gil Appointed as Special Presidential Advisor for Peace and Diplomacy
Former National Assembly member Song Young-gil has been newly appointed as the Special Presidential Advisor for Peace and Diplomacy. This appointment appears to be a decision based on his experience and expertise in the field of foreign affairs.
Special Advisor Song was born in Goheung, South Jeolla Province, in 1963. After graduating from Gwangju Daedong High School, he majored in business administration at Yonsei University.
Following his graduation from university, he began his social activities by participating in the labor movement in the Incheon area for about seven years. This experience became an important foundation for his subsequent growth as a politician.
Special Advisor Song has been known as a representative 'foreign policy expert' within the National Assembly and is one of the most senior multi-term lawmakers in the ruling party. Much attention is now focused on what role he will play as the Special Presidential Advisor for Peace and Diplomacy.
