European Graduate Students Take Note of Korea’s ‘National Fitness 100’ System
Recently, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO) invited 40 graduate students majoring in sports management from Europe to introduce Korea’s advanced sports welfare model. This visit served as a significant occasion demonstrating that Korea’s physical education system is gaining international recognition.
The students showed the greatest interest in the ‘National Fitness 100’ program. This program is a free welfare service that scientifically measures the physical fitness of citizens and provides exercise methods tailored to individual health conditions. The European students were deeply impressed by Korea’s systematic approach.
The delegation visited Olympic Park in Seoul to observe the fitness measurement process firsthand. In particular, they highly praised the integration of Korea’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and sports while observing the process of analyzing fitness using advanced equipment and receiving expert consultations based on the results.
One student who participated in the event remarked, "It is surprising that the state manages the health of its citizens in such detail," and expressed a desire to reference this model in their home country. This demonstrates that Korea’s sports administration capabilities are having a positive impact even on European experts.
The Korea Sports Promotion Foundation plans to continue promoting Korea’s excellent sports policies worldwide through various international exchange programs. These efforts are expected to significantly contribute to raising the international status of Korean sports.
