European Sports Experts Take Note of Korea’s ‘National Fitness 100’ System
Recently, 40 graduate students majoring in sports management from Europe visited Korea. They came to Korea to personally observe and learn about the 'National Fitness 100' model, a representative welfare service of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO). This visit served as an important opportunity to promote Korea's advanced sports system to the world.
'National Fitness 100' is a fitness management service provided free of charge by the state for the health of its citizens. It uses scientific equipment to measure an individual's physical fitness, and based on the results, experts provide customized exercise prescriptions. The European students showed great interest in this system, which combines Korea's IT technology with sports welfare.
The delegation visited a fitness certification center in Seoul to observe the operational process firsthand. The students experienced the fitness measurement tools on-site and asked various questions about Korea's sports administration system. In particular, they responded that the government-led approach to systematically managing the health data of the entire nation was very impressive.
Through this visit, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation confirmed that Korea's sports model is sufficiently competitive in Europe and other overseas regions. An official from the foundation stated that they plan to continue actively engaging with major overseas universities and sports organizations to share Korea's excellent practices.
This event served as an important stepping stone for strengthening the sports network between Korea and Europe. There are high expectations for whether Korea's efficient sports welfare model will spread worldwide in the future, contributing to more people enjoying healthy lives.
