Policy Forum Held Ahead of Next Month's 'Korea-Central Asia Summit'
Ahead of the 'Korea-Central Asia Summit' to be held next month, a meeting was arranged to discuss ways to foster cooperation between Korea and Central Asian countries. On the afternoon of the 27th, a policy forum themed 'Evaluation and Prospects of Korea-Central Asia Cooperation' took place at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Seoul.
This forum was organized to strengthen diplomatic relations between Korea and the five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) and to explore future directions for economic and cultural cooperation. Experts reviewed past achievements in cooperation and engaged in in-depth discussions on future-oriented development strategies.
Participants noted that combining Central Asia's resources with Korea's technological prowess could create significant synergy. In particular, opinions were raised on the need to expand practical cooperation in various fields, including energy, infrastructure, and digital transformation.
The topics discussed at this forum are scheduled to be addressed as key agenda items at next month's summit. The government and experts expect this summit to serve as an important opportunity to elevate the relationship between Korea and Central Asia to the next level.
