Baemin B-Mart’s Agricultural and Livestock Sales Surge 53% Following Expansion of Direct Sourcing

Baedal Minjok’s quick commerce service, ‘B-Mart,’ is achieving significant results through cooperation with local farms. According to recently released data, B-Mart’s domestic agricultural and livestock sales have increased by 53% compared to last year as a result of expanding direct sourcing from production areas.

The primary driver of this growth is the introduction of the ‘direct sourcing’ method. B-Mart chose to trade directly with producers to reduce intermediate distribution steps. This allows consumers to receive fresher agricultural products quickly and at reasonable prices.

Furthermore, Baedal Minjok has signed business agreements with various local governments, such as Gyeongsangbuk-do and Chungcheongnam-do, to assist in the sale of local specialties. It is being evaluated for establishing a win-win model that increases farm income by providing new sales channels for local farmers who are unfamiliar with online sales.

Currently, B-Mart sells a wide variety of fresh foods, including meat, vegetables, and fruit. In particular, it features a system that maintains freshness until the moment of delivery through strict quality control, addressing the disadvantage of online shopping where consumers cannot inspect fresh food in person.

An official from Baedal Minjok stated that they plan to further strengthen cooperation with local farms in the future. They intend to create a structure where the company and local communities grow together by discovering and introducing excellent agricultural and livestock products from more regions to consumers.
