Strengthening the Youth Safety Net… Expanding Cooperation with Mental Health Welfare Centers and Family Centers
The government is significantly strengthening the youth safety net to protect at-risk youth more systematically. The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family recently announced that it would enhance cooperation among youth support organizations within local communities to provide customized services to youth in need.
Following this measure, not only existing youth counseling and welfare centers but also mental health welfare centers and family centers will be newly added to the youth safety net. Through this, youth experiencing psychological difficulties will be able to receive more professional mental health counseling, and those struggling with family issues will also be able to request help more easily.
The government aims to build a system where each institution shares information and cooperates to detect and support youth in crisis situations at an early stage. In addition, it plans to integrate various welfare services operated by region so that youth can receive necessary support without complex procedures.
This policy change is expected to play a major role in helping youth grow into healthy members of society. The government plans to continue to supplement the safety net for youth protection in cooperation with local communities in the future.
