Korea Tourism Organization and Everland to Attract Japanese Tourists with 'Pandas'
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization are launching a special tourism campaign targeting Japanese citizens who have never visited Korea. This campaign, titled "My First Trip to Korea," is scheduled to run from June to December of this year.
The most significant feature of this campaign is the collaboration with Everland, a theme park located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. In particular, the plan is to widely promote the charm of traveling to Korea in Japan by leveraging the popularity of the beloved panda family at Everland. The image of the cute pandas is expected to resonate warmly with Japanese tourists.
Through this project, the government and the Korea Tourism Organization are encouraging Japanese tourists to travel to various regions of Korea beyond just Seoul. They plan to introduce programs that allow visitors to directly experience and feel local Korean culture, going beyond simply sightseeing at famous landmarks.
An official from the Korea Tourism Organization stated that this campaign will be a great opportunity to increase interest in traveling to Korea within Japan. They plan to continue developing various types of content to help more foreign tourists discover the charms of Korea.
