Over 680 Dead in Massive Nepal Floods… Damage Spreading
Record-breaking heavy rains and flooding in Nepal have caused significant loss of life. Nepal's disaster management authorities announced that the massive flooding that occurred in the central Bagmati Province on the 26th has claimed 675 lives so far.
This flooding has caused extensive damage throughout Nepal. According to data confirmed by authorities, the total death toll from this disaster has reached 682. Sudden heavy rains caused rivers to overflow, leading to the inundation of homes and roads, and leaving many residents stranded.
Currently, the Nepalese government and rescue teams are continuing search operations to find missing persons in the affected areas. However, rescue efforts are facing difficulties due to many roads being cut off and communication facilities being destroyed. Residents in the affected areas are exposed to secondary damage, including shortages of drinking water and food.
The international community is closely monitoring the disaster situation in Nepal and seeking ways to provide support. Several countries, including South Korea, and international organizations are considering humanitarian aid for recovery efforts. Local authorities have urged residents to evacuate to safe areas as additional heavy rain is expected.
