Spain experiences a day of political tension, judicial proceedings, and industrial aid

The political landscape in Spain is marked today by judicial pressure on the Government and the PSOE. President Pedro Sánchez has announced that he will appear in Congress in a month to provide explanations regarding various judicial investigations. Among these cases, the recent indictment of the party's manager, Ana Fuentes, for alleged irregular financing stands out. Currently, a group of ten different judges is examining various cases affecting the president's inner circle and his political party.

Within the Socialist Party (PSOE) itself, internal tension is rising due to criticism from some of its leaders. Emiliano García-Page, president of Castilla-La Mancha, has harshly criticized Sánchez using controversial terms such as "prison" or "sauna," which has caused unease within the national leadership. Additionally, several socialist mayors from Andalusia have expressed their rejection of holding municipal and general elections on the same day—an idea known as "super Sunday"—to prevent national issues from harming their local results.

In the judicial sphere, the Prosecutor's Office has defended the impartiality of the judge investigating David Sánchez, the president's brother, against political pressure. On the other hand, new revelations have emerged regarding the Plus Ultra case. According to investigation testimonies, people close to former president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero allegedly used disposable phones without internet connections to hold private conversations outside of official channels.

The opposition has also taken significant legal action against those close to the Government. The People's Party (PP) has filed a lawsuit against José Félix Tezanos, director of the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), accusing him of consciously manipulating electoral polls. Meanwhile, the Government maintains its support for key figures such as Santos Cerdán and his collaborator Serrano, despite the fact that the latter could face a judicial process for his negotiations with Carles Puigdemont.

In the economic sector, the Ministry of Industry and Tourism has launched a new call for aid worth 12 million euros. This money is intended to reduce the electricity bills of energy-intensive companies, such as Arcelor and Azsa in Asturias. This amount represents an increase of one million euros compared to last year and seeks to protect the stability of heavy industry in the country.

Finally, in the cultural field, archaeologist Fernando Mora has highlighted the importance of preserving Asturias' traditional heritage. Through the "Baxo’l Horru" association, a route has been organized in Ribadesella to explain the secrets of the hórreos (traditional granaries) in Santianes del Agua. This initiative aims to encourage citizens to value these ancient constructions more, as they are a fundamental part of the region's landscape and history.
