The Mérida Festival closes its edition with the premiere of 'The 9 Muses'
The prestigious International Classical Theatre Festival of Mérida is preparing to put the finishing touch on this year's program. The organization has announced that the play tasked with closing the event will be 'The 9 Muses', an innovative proposal that promises to surprise the audience in the iconic Roman theatre.
This play stands out for being an original mix of very diverse elements. According to the organizers, the show combines classical mythology with contemporary music and large doses of humor. The company's goal is to offer a renewed and current vision of Greek myths, adapting them to the themes and concerns of modern society.
Those responsible for the production have shared a video preview that allows a glimpse of the staging. In the footage, one can see how music and performance come together to create a dynamic atmosphere, moving away from more traditional versions of classical stories. This approach seeks to attract both longtime theatre lovers and a younger audience.
The Mérida Festival continues to consolidate itself as one of the most important cultural events in Spain. With this closing, the festival reaffirms its commitment to keeping the legacy of Greco-Latin theatre alive, while always seeking new ways to connect with current spectators through creativity and artistic experimentation.
Tickets to enjoy this final performance are now available to the public. The festival's closing is expected to be an attendance success, consolidating a season that has once again positioned the Extremaduran city as the epicenter of classical theatre in our country.
