Firefighting aid for Portugal and economic momentum
Spain is preparing to provide aerial support to Portugal due to the extreme risk of fires, while the national economy shows signs of acceleration in the private sector. Additionally, the Government is detailing new investments for the audiovisual industry, and the operator Digi has begun the procedures to go public.
Portugal has formally requested Spain, Morocco, and the European Union to keep additional firefighting aircraft ready. This precautionary measure aims to strengthen response capacity in the face of the current heatwave, which has increased the danger of forest fires and requires special monitoring in border areas.
On the economic front, Spanish business activity grew in June at its fastest pace in two months. The PMI index (an indicator that measures the health of the private sector) reached 53.3 points, consolidating a period of expansion that reflects greater dynamism in hiring and commercial activity in the country.
Related to industrial development, the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT, a public ministerial body) has presented its investment plans for the "Spain Audiovisual Hub" program. These funds, financed with Recovery Plan resources, are intended to strengthen film and television production in Spain.
Finally, the telecommunications operator Digi has begun preparations for its initial public offering in Spain. The company plans to offer up to 25% of its shares to raise approximately 150 million euros, an operation linked to its growth strategy and debt management in the national telephony market.
