The Cione Ruta de la Luz Foundation improves the vision of hundreds of Sahrawi children in Spain
The Cione Ruta de la Luz Foundation has successfully concluded its recent visual health campaign aimed at Sahrawi minors spending the summer in Spain. This initiative is part of the well-known solidarity program "Vacaciones en Paz" (Vacations in Peace), which allows children from refugee camps to live temporarily with Spanish families during the summer months.
During this campaign, the foundation's professionals performed a total of 475 visual examinations on the minors. The main objective of these check-ups is to detect vision problems that, in many cases, could not be adequately treated in their places of origin due to a lack of specialized medical resources.
As a result of these tests, the organization has provided 375 pairs of prescription glasses completely free of charge. These devices are fundamental for improving the children's school performance and daily quality of life, allowing them to enjoy clear vision during their stay in our country.
The "Vacaciones en Paz" program benefits each year from the participation of numerous host families throughout Spain. The collaboration of entities such as the Cione Ruta de la Luz Foundation is essential to ensure that, in addition to enjoying a safe and healthy environment, the minors receive the necessary healthcare while they are far from their homes.
