Meliá plans to sell assets for over 100 million euros to finance its growth
The Spanish hotel chain Meliá Hotels International has announced a new financial strategy to boost its future investments. The company plans to raise more than 100 million euros through the sale of land and various business holdings.
This decision comes after the company carried out a non-monetary accounting adjustment of 79.4 million euros related to its operations in Cuba. This move seeks to clean up its accounts and adapt the company's capital structure to the current economic context.
The main objective of this operation is to obtain liquidity to finance new expansion projects. Meliá seeks to strengthen its position in the hotel market, prioritizing the growth and modernization of its establishments in the coming years.
With this measure, the Majorcan hotel company intends to offset the accounting impact suffered in the Cuban market and maintain its competitiveness. The company remains focused on optimizing its asset portfolio to ensure greater long-term profitability.
