Meta develops smart glasses that record everything happening around you
Tech company Meta, owner of social networks like Facebook and Instagram, is working on a revolutionary new project. It involves "super-sensing" smart glasses that have the ability to continuously capture audio and take photographs. This device seeks to change the way we interact with our environment and how we remember information.
The main objective of this prototype is to allow users to consult previously captured information. For example, if a person sees something interesting on the street or hears an important explanation, the glasses will save that moment automatically. In this way, the device functions as an extension of human memory, facilitating the retrieval of data in everyday life.
However, this technological innovation also raises many important questions about privacy. By constantly recording images and sounds, an ethical debate arises regarding the rights of people who appear in the recordings without their consent. In Spain and the rest of the European Union, data protection laws are very strict, which could represent a major challenge for the launch of this product.
For now, these glasses are only a prototype in the development phase and do not have an official market release date. Meta continues to conduct tests to improve battery life and the design of the device, aiming to make it comfortable and discreet for daily use. The future of wearable technology seems to be getting closer, although much remains to be decided regarding its regulation and responsible use.
