Afghan women in Spain request more support for their integration and training
The Afghan Women in Spain association (AMAE), which represents more than 300 refugee women in the country, has raised its voice to request greater support from Spanish institutions. The group seeks to improve their living conditions and facilitate their full integration into society through concrete measures.
Among their main requests, the group's representatives have asked for an increase in the granting of humanitarian and student visas. As they explain, these tools are fundamental for many women who still remain in high-risk situations in Afghanistan to find a safe refuge and continue their personal and professional development in Spain.
In addition, the group has focused on the bureaucratic difficulties that many Afghan professionals face upon arriving in the country. The association is calling for easier processes to validate their academic and university degrees, which would allow these women to access qualified jobs and contribute their experience to the Spanish labor market.
This request highlights the challenges that refugees face after arriving in Spain, where administrative barriers are often one of the greatest obstacles to their autonomy. AMAE emphasizes that, with the right support, these women can overcome these difficulties and contribute positively to the community that has welcomed them.
For the moment, Spanish authorities are evaluating the needs of this group. The work of associations like AMAE is essential to raise awareness of the reality of Afghan women and to work on solutions that allow for a more effective and dignified reception for all of them.
