Recognition of technological talent: these are the winners of the CIO 50 Spain 2026 awards
The Spanish technology community recently celebrated the presentation of the CIO 50 awards for the year 2026. This prestigious award aims to recognize the work of Information Technology (IT) leaders who stand out for their innovation, strategy, and capacity for digital transformation within their respective organizations.
In this edition, the main "CIO of the Year" recognition went to Francisco Gonzalo, who serves as CIO at the company Sacyr. His management has been highlighted for its positive impact on the company's technological structure, establishing him as a key figure in the sector over the last fiscal year.
On the other hand, the "Visionary Technological Leadership" award was granted to Rubén Andrés. Currently, Andrés holds the positions of CIO and COO at Singular Bank and SelfBank. This award highlights his strategic vision and his ability to integrate advanced technological solutions into the banking sector, an area that requires constant adaptation to new digital demands.
These awards not only celebrate individual achievements, but also serve as a barometer for the state of technology in Spain. The work of these professionals is fundamental for Spanish companies to remain competitive in a global market that is increasingly digitized and dependent on the efficiency of information systems.
