Most Spaniards call for more investment in the rail network
According to a recent study, rail transport has become a priority for citizens in Spain. More than half of the population believes that the State should invest more public money in improving tracks and train services across the country.
The data reveals that 58% of Spaniards believe the rail network should be the primary destination for government economic resources. This figure shows a growing interest in more sustainable and efficient transport that better connects the different regions of the peninsula.
The tourism sector and transport professionals are also closely following this trend. A modern train network not only facilitates holiday travel but is also fundamental for workers who commute daily. Furthermore, the train is perceived as a much more ecological alternative compared to using private cars or planes.
Currently, although Spain has a very significant high-speed network, many citizens are calling for investments to also reach commuter and medium-distance trains. These services are essential for the daily lives of millions of people and require constant improvements in their punctuality and frequency.
In conclusion, society's demand for a quality rail system is very clear. The challenge for the authorities will be to manage these resources to meet citizens' expectations and ensure a future with less pollution and better mobility for everyone.
