Asturias strengthens the fight against tax fraud with new digital tools
The Public Tax Services Agency of the Principality of Asturias has taken a significant step toward improving tax oversight in the region. The administration has announced that it will use a new technological tool to detect potential irregularities and combat tax fraud more effectively.
The central element of this strategy is the use of digital records of public deeds. These documents contain detailed information on transactions carried out before a notary, such as home purchases, business formations, or inheritance management. By having direct access to this data, the Asturian tax authority will be able to monitor transactions with greater precision.
Until now, the process of reviewing these documents could be slow and complex. However, with the digitalization of notary records, inspectors can cross-reference information quickly. This allows for the automatic identification of whether the taxes paid by citizens match the actual value of the registered transactions.
The main objective of this measure is to ensure that all taxpayers fulfill their obligations fairly. According to the authorities, the use of technology not only helps find those who attempt to cheat the system but also makes the administration more modern and efficient for the benefit of all Asturian society.
