Spain reinforces security at the Ceuta border in anticipation of potential mass crossing attempts
The Government of Spain has decided to increase the presence of security forces in the autonomous city of Ceuta. This measure has been taken in response to growing concern over potential mass crossing attempts at the border separating the Spanish enclave from Moroccan territory.
Spanish authorities have detected an increase in messages and calls on social media encouraging a new wave of irregular entries. Given this situation, the Ministry of the Interior has reinforced the deployment of Civil Guard and National Police officers to ensure surveillance of the border perimeter.
For its part, the Government of Morocco is also collaborating in the area. Moroccan forces are maintaining active surveillance on their side of the border to monitor the movement of people and prevent risky situations or attempts to jump the fence surrounding the city.
The situation at the Ceuta border is a matter of great importance for national security and diplomatic relations between both countries. The main objective of this reinforcement is to maintain public order and ensure that border control is carried out in an orderly and safe manner for all individuals involved.
