Trade between Asturias and Mexico exceeds 2.2 billion euros driven by technology
The commercial relationship between the Principality of Asturias and Mexico has reached very significant figures in recent years. According to recent data, the total business volume between both regions amounted to 2,235.7 million euros in the period between 2021 and 2025. This figure demonstrates the strength of current transatlantic economic ties.
The technology and engineering sector is the main driver of this commercial exchange. In fact, these areas represent 71.3% of the total volume generated, which is equivalent to about 1,600 million euros. This data, provided by the foreign promotion agency Asturex, highlights the high specialization of Asturian companies operating in the American country.
In addition to technology, other industrial sectors also contribute to this multi-million euro figure, although to a lesser extent. Collaboration between companies on both sides of the ocean has allowed for a constant flow of services and products, consolidating Mexico as one of the preferred destinations for exports and investments from the Principality of Asturias.
The success of these operations reflects the great effort toward the internationalization of the Asturian economy. Mexico has become a fundamental strategic partner, offering growth opportunities and stability for companies seeking to expand their activities outside the European market.
In conclusion, the results of these last four years are very positive for the economy of the Spanish region. Experts expect this growth trend to continue in the future, further strengthening technical and commercial cooperation between Asturias and Mexico in the coming years.
