EasyJet flight bound for Fuerteventura returns to Liverpool due to a medical emergency
An EasyJet airline aircraft, which was covering the route between Liverpool and Fuerteventura, was forced to change its course this Wednesday. Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft had to return to its departure airport due to an unexpected health issue that affected one of the crew members.
According to official information, the flight's co-pilot began to feel unwell during the initial journey, which activated the airline's safety protocols. As a precaution and to ensure the safety of all passengers and the rest of the crew, the captain decided to return to the ground immediately.
The plane landed without incident at Liverpool Airport, where emergency services were prepared to attend to the co-pilot. The company has confirmed that the professional received medical assistance as soon as the aircraft touched British soil.
Passengers heading to the Canary Islands had to wait at the airport while the situation was managed. EasyJet has apologized to those affected for the inconvenience caused and has worked to reschedule the flight to Fuerteventura as soon as possible.
These types of incidents, although infrequent, demonstrate the importance of strict safety protocols in commercial aviation. The priority of airlines is always to protect the health of their staff and passengers in the face of any medical emergency that may arise during a flight.
