Sweden fast-tracks volunteer training for the Home Guard during the summer
During the summer, several hundred people are undergoing intensive military training in Sweden. The purpose of the initiative is to rapidly strengthen the country's defense capabilities by training new volunteers for the Home Guard.
This fast-track training is part of the Swedish Armed Forces' efforts to address the changing security situation in the surrounding region. By offering a condensed course format, more people can become part of the military readiness faster.
The training covers basic military skills required to serve in the Home Guard. Participants learn everything from first aid and security to the practical handling of equipment, which makes them ready to support society when needed.
The interest in contributing to Sweden's defense has increased significantly in recent years. Many of the participants see the training as a way to take personal responsibility for the country's security and safety.
The investment in fast-track training is expected to continue in the future to ensure that the Home Guard has sufficient personnel. This summer is an important step toward building stronger readiness with the help of committed volunteers from across the country.
