Visit Sweden launches initiative to attract more tourists to Dalarna
Visit Sweden is currently working on a new initiative to make Dalarna a more popular destination for international tourists. The goal is to showcase Swedish nature and offer visitors unique experiences that they cannot find anywhere else.
The new program includes several different guided tours. Among other things, tourists will have the chance to try mountain hiking with overnight camping, paddling on the Västerdal River, and mountain biking in Rörbäcksnäs. These activities have been selected to provide close contact with the Swedish wilderness.
Tour operators from various countries are being invited to experience the offerings for themselves. The idea is that they, in turn, will be able to market Dalarna as an attractive destination to their clients back home. By showcasing the local opportunities, they hope to increase interest in Swedish nature tourism.
The initiative is part of a larger effort to spread tourism to more parts of Sweden, beyond the largest cities. By highlighting Dalarna's unique landscape and outdoor life, Visit Sweden hopes that more foreign visitors will choose to travel north during their vacation.
