A passenger car and an A-tractor collided at 5:46 p.m. on Saturday on county road 2062/2064 at Brasmerud outside Frändefors in Vänersborg Municipality. According to the police, the A-tractor drove into a four-way intersection, after which the passenger car struck the driver's side of the A-tractor. Six people were involved in the accident and all were taken to the hospital. Four ambulances and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene, but the helicopter was able to leave without transporting any patients.
The driver of the A-tractor is a girl in her late teens. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance, as were all the people in the passenger car. At 7:30 p.m., the police announced that the injuries sustained by those involved were minor. Initial reports from SOS Alarm indicated seven people were involved, a figure that was later adjusted down to six.
"The driver of the A-tractor, a girl in her late teens, has been taken to the hospital," said Christian Brattgård, police spokesperson.
According to the rescue services, it was a side-impact collision at a four-way intersection. No one was trapped after the crash, and everyone involved managed to get out of the vehicles on their own. The A-tractor has been seized. The road was completely closed in all directions while rescue and recovery work was underway, and it reopened at 7:33 p.m. The police have not yet explained why the A-tractor drove into the intersection.
If you are driving in the area, you should expect that there may still be glass and vehicle parts in the intersection, so keep your speed down past Brasmerud. The road is open again in both directions. Anyone who witnessed the accident can contact the police at 114 14, and in the event of an ongoing emergency, call 112.
