Microsoft makes billion-kronor investment in Swedish AI data centers
Microsoft has announced a major investment in the Swedish technology market. The company plans to invest 33.7 billion SEK in Swedish data centers to strengthen its capacity in artificial intelligence.
The investment includes the purchase of 20,000 powerful graphics processing units, known as GPUs. These components are necessary to efficiently train and run advanced AI models. The initiative is expected to be fully implemented by 2026.
Sweden has become an attractive location for tech giants due to the availability of green electricity and stable infrastructure. In addition to Microsoft, there are also plans for other major players, such as Nvidia and FuriosaAI, to expand their operations in the country during the same period.
This development shows that Sweden plays an important role in the global race for AI technology. For Sweden, the expansion of the data centers means both technological progress and potentially new job opportunities in the IT sector.
