New digital support for parents aims to make mealtimes with children easier
Many parents find that mealtimes with young children can be a challenge. To provide support in everyday life, Karolinska Institutet has developed a new digital program called PICNIC.
The purpose of the program is to help parents understand how children learn to eat and develop their eating habits. By offering knowledge about child development, the researchers hope to reduce stress during meals at home.
In the program, participants receive practical tips on how to handle common problems at the dinner table. This can include, for example, how to introduce new foods or how to address picky eating in a pedagogical way.
The tool is entirely web-based, making it easy for parents to access the information whenever it suits them. By using research-based methods, Karolinska Institutet aims to create a more secure environment for both children and adults during mealtimes.
This initiative is part of the work to promote good eating habits early in life. Parents who want to learn more about their children's eating behavior can now use this support to achieve a smoother daily routine.
