Number of unemployed in Sweden decreases slightly
The latest statistics show that unemployment in Sweden has fallen slightly. During week 33, the number of registered unemployed at the Public Employment Service decreased by 1,010 people compared to the week before.
In total, the number of unemployed now amounts to 350,125 people across the country. Although the decrease is relatively small, it is a positive figure for the Swedish labor market.
The Public Employment Service regularly publishes statistics to track how the labor market is developing. These figures are important for understanding the economic situation in Sweden and how many people are outside the workforce.
It is still too early to say whether this is the beginning of a longer trend of lower unemployment. Experts and policymakers are now following the development closely over the coming weeks to see if the decrease continues.
