Easyjet expands its base at Basel Airport
The airline Easyjet Switzerland is planning a significant expansion of its services at the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse. As the company recently announced, two new Airbus A321 Neo aircraft are to be permanently stationed at Basel Airport starting with the 2027 summer flight schedule.
With this investment, the airline is responding to the increasing demand in air travel. The new A321 Neo models are considered particularly efficient and more environmentally friendly than older models, as they consume less fuel and cause less noise pollution.
For travelers in the Basel region, this decision means a wider range of flight connections. Thanks to the additional capacity, Easyjet can offer more destinations directly from Basel and increase the frequency on existing routes, which further strengthens the airport as an important transport hub for Northwest Switzerland.
The stationing of the new aircraft is part of Easyjet's long-term growth strategy at the Basel location. The EuroAirport, which is used by both Switzerland and France, will thus benefit from improved connectivity to the European route network.
