Swiss start-ups are global leaders in deep tech
Switzerland holds a top position in investments for future-oriented technologies. As current data shows, a large portion of venture capital is flowing into so-called deep-tech companies. These firms develop complex scientific solutions that are often based on groundbreaking research results.
With a 63 percent share of total venture capital, Switzerland ranks first in an international comparison. It thus surpasses major economic nations such as China, which invests 56 percent, and the USA, which reaches 54 percent. This focus underscores the high innovative strength of Switzerland as a business location.
For institutional investors from Switzerland, this development means new opportunities but also specific requirements. Since deep-tech start-ups often have long development cycles, they require a long-term strategy. Nevertheless, the sector offers the potential for technological breakthroughs that can transform entire industries.
The high density of investments in this area demonstrates confidence in the Swiss research landscape. Experts assume that this trend will significantly strengthen the competitiveness of the Swiss economy in the coming years as well.
