Stansstad celebrates the opening of the new village square
The municipality of Stansstad in the canton of Nidwalden has reason to celebrate: after a total construction period of 20 months, the newly designed village square has been officially inaugurated. With a large village festival, the residents were finally able to experience the result of the renovation work together for the first time.
The project involved a comprehensive redesign of the area, which stretches from the historic Sust building to the boat landing. The goal of the construction work was to make the public space more attractive and to improve the quality of stay for the local population and visitors right on Lake Lucerne.
The redesign of the village square is a significant step for the municipality's infrastructure. The new paths and plazas are intended not only to beautify the townscape but also to strengthen the connection between the village center and the lakeshore. This is expected to promote tourism and offer locals a new meeting point.
The official inauguration took place in glorious weather and attracted numerous visitors. The municipality of Stansstad expressed satisfaction with the completion of the project, which, despite the long construction period, was handed over to the public on schedule. The new village square is now accessible to everyone and invites people to linger.
