Massive Attacks on Kyiv: Russia Deploys Drones and Missiles
Heavy attacks occurred last night on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. According to official reports, Russia bombarded the city with drones and ballistic missiles. Residents were warned by sirens and had to seek shelter in basements or subway stations.
Ukrainian air defenses were active throughout the night to intercept the incoming projectiles. Nevertheless, there were reports of explosions in various parts of the city. Such attacks have now become part of the difficult daily life for many people in Ukraine, but the intensity this night was particularly high.
The humanitarian situation in the country remains critical due to the constant fighting. Many buildings are destroyed, and the infrastructure is heavily damaged. The civilian population especially suffers from the insecurity and the lack of basic necessities such as a stable power supply and clean water.
To help those affected, organizations like the Swiss "Swiss Solidarity" (Glückskette) continue to collect donations. These funds are urgently needed to finance food, medicine, and emergency shelters. Even long after the start of the heavy conflict, international solidarity remains vital for many Ukrainians.
Experts emphasize that an end to the conflict is currently not in sight. While military clashes continue, the international community is focusing on alleviating human suffering and continuing to provide humanitarian support to Ukraine.
