Summer Series "Jura Arc": A Look at the Region Between Tradition and Change
The well-known program "Schweiz aktuell" is dedicating its summer series this year to the Jura Arc. This region, which stretches along the border with France, is the focus of the reporting. The goal of the series is to bring the unique characteristics and cultural identity of this area closer to the viewers.
A central theme of the series is the significance of the national border. The editorial team examines how the geographical location influences the people and daily life in the cantons along the Jura. In doing so, it sheds light on the role the border plays in the exchange between Switzerland and neighboring France.
In addition to the cultural aspects, the program also takes a look at the economic situation. The Jura Arc has historically been strongly shaped by the watchmaking industry and other specialized craft businesses. The reports show how these companies hold their own in a globalized world and what challenges the region currently has to overcome.
The summer series thus offers a comprehensive insight into a region that often lies off the beaten path of major tourist flows. Through personal stories and expert interviews, viewers receive a vivid picture of the diversity of the Jura Arc. The series runs until the end of the summer and invites viewers to rediscover the hidden sides of this Swiss border region.
