Summer weather in autumn: Switzerland experiences unusually warm days
Although the calendar autumn has already begun, the weather in Switzerland is currently showing its summery side. Many regions in the country can look forward to plenty of sunshine and pleasant temperatures in the coming days, which are more reminiscent of midsummer.
Meteorologists are currently measuring values of up to 27 degrees Celsius. This unusual warmth for the time of year means that people in Switzerland do not yet have to stow their summer clothes away in the closet. The mild temperatures are particularly inviting for spending time outdoors during the afternoon hours.
While such weather phases in September are not entirely unknown, the current values are significantly above the long-term average. Experts are observing this development closely, as it is a sign of the changing climatic conditions that are also being observed more and more frequently in Switzerland.
For the population, this means a welcome extension of the outdoor season. Whether in the parks, in the Swiss mountains, or by the lakes – the sunny days are currently being used intensively by many people before the cooler season finally sets in.
