Record year for the Swiss bond market: 124 billion francs reached
The Swiss financial market reached a historic milestone last year. As reported by Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB), the market for Swiss franc bonds on the Swiss stock exchange SIX recorded a volume of around 124 billion francs. This is the highest result ever measured in this sector.
In total, exactly 558 new bonds in Swiss francs were issued in 2025. This high number underscores the attractiveness of the Swiss financial center for national and international investors. Experts see this growth as a sign of confidence in the stability of the Swiss franc.
Bonds are an important instrument for companies and public institutions to raise capital. The fact that so many new bonds were listed on the SIX shows that the demand for investment opportunities in Switzerland remains very high. Despite global economic challenges, the Swiss market thus remains a central pillar for financing projects.
The record figures highlight the importance of the Swiss stock exchange as a trading venue for bonds. For investors and companies, this development offers a wide range of options to invest their capital securely or to plan long-term investments. It remains to be seen whether this trend will continue in the current year.
